The Brandon Marshall trade is the talk of the NFL. Known as much for his arrest record as his pass catching talent, the superstar wide receiver was traded by the Denver Broncos to the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins gave Denver a second-round pick in next week's NFL draft and another second round pick next year in the Brandon Marshall trade according to the NFL.

Brandon Marshall started showing up in police reports during his junior year at the University of Central Florida with misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, refusal to obey and assault on a police officer. The charges all were dismissed. He was then charged again with retail theft after trying to return stolen bed sheets. Those charges were also dropped.

Brandon Marshall was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2006. In that year, Brandon Marshall was involved in an altercation at a Denver nightclub that previous Broncos wide receiver Javon Walker said contributes to a shooting shortly after that which killed Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams.

Brandon Marshall attracted the police again in January 2007 following a fight with his father, who asked to borrow cash, within the parking lot of a bowling alley in Orlando, FL. A few days later, Marshall was arrested for domestic violence and false imprisonment for assaulting Watley at Marshall’s home in Denver. All of the charges were dismissed after Marshall attended anger management classes.

Brandon Marshall assaulted Watley again, according to police reports, in June 2007 when he allegedly cut her with a kitchen knife and punched her within the face. Marshall then went and rammed Watley's friend's vehicle with his nice car, being a Cadillac Escalade. Again, there were no charges filed. After Marshall missed a flight a few weeks later, blamed Watley for it, and beat her up, the Atlanta police responded. Yet again, no charges were filed. Atlanta police suggested that Watley should get a restraining order.

Brandon Marshall received a DUI in October 2007 in Denver. After several more reports of violence with Watley on the receiving end of the receiver’s wrath, Marshall was suspended for the first 3 regular season games of 2008. two misdemeanor counts of simple batter for incidents from March 2007 are what Marshall was finally charged with. He was given a year of probation after his DUI in September 2008.
Fiance being assaulted by Brandon Marshall
Many authors praised Marshall for his "maturity" after he proposed to Michi Nogami-Campbell in February 2009. Just a few months later, Marshall was arrested for assaulting his fiance in public in Atlanta. The charges were dismissed. The Broncos kept Marshall suspended during many games last season and benched him for the final game.

Why would the Dolphins want a Brandon Marshall trade after all of this? He’s instant money — with caveats. For the third straight year, Marshall has managed to catch 100 passes, and he set an NFL record for receptions in a game with 21 in 2009.
