Ex whom accused Tonya Craft rescued from being sued by their kids

A kindergarten teacher from Chickamauga, Tenn. named Craft had her life taken away when she was false charged of child sex abuse. Craft was ruled not guilty. But she found herself in a custody dispute that continued to hold the interest of the press. Her ex-husband and his wife were also named in a $25 million suit against her accusers, however Craft removed him from the list to focus on a parenting plan.

Craft litigation to understand

Tonya Craft was acquitted in May of 22 counts of child molestation. She lost her job and her house during the legal battle lasting two years. Also, $500,000 in legal bills stacked up. She also ended up losing her kids. They were separated. There were some supporters of Craft. They said that a "witch hunt" was what the trial was turning out to be. There were bloggers following the Tonya Craft trial that suggests the Tonya Craft conviction was all that the judge and prosecutors wanted. Cato-at-liberty.org reported that the judge sitting on the case represented Tonya Craft’s husband in their divorce. Defense attorneys filed a motion seeking the judge's recusal, however he refused to step down. The prosecutor wrote status updates on Facebook that included comments by witnesses.

Tonya Craft good to Henke

The custody battle was resolved in a private meeting between Craft and Joal Henke after years of custody issues. Not only did they agree to share custody of the children, Craft said she was dropping Henke and his current wife from her $25 million federal civil suit. The school district that employed her, prosecutors, police officers and parents of kids that had all accused her of sex abuse are likely to be in the suit nevertheless.

Tonya Craft forgives and forgets

Aiden, Tonya Craft's daughter, was one of the children who charged Craft of child molestation. Aiden never actually said she was molested in the Tonya Craft litigation. But prosecutors insisted that the child corroborated testimony of 2 of her friends — testimony documented as inconsistent — that Craft touched them inappropriately. Craft told the “Today” show Monday that her relationship with her daughter has healed “as if nothing has taken place.”. Going to law school to help others wrongly accused is the next plan Craft has.
