Mutiny on the Meridian has a certain ring to it, but Johnny Depp’s visit to the Meridian School in London didn’t quite have that effect. Asked to visit by a 9-year-old student, Depp visited in full Jack Sparrow gear. The pirate visit did not lead to the mutiny the student had asked for. Johnny Depp receives letter to Jack Sparrow
A letter addressed to Jack Sparrow was written by nine-year old student Beatrice Delap. Johnny Depp plays the character Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean”. In the letter, she asked for Sparrow’s help with a mutiny at the school. Depp evidently received the letter and decided to act on it. Since Depp was already near London, filming the newest “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie, it had been easy to do. The Captain and his crew took a few minutes off the set to visit the southeast London school.
A 10 minute warning for Johnny Depp to visit
Johnny Depp was sitting around in his Johnny Depp getup. I guess he decided that he was bored and was going to go visit the school. Depp gathered some actors in their pirate getups. He then called the school and gave a 10 minute notice of his arrival. Meridian School quickly called an assembly of all its students. All the sudden pirates were walking into the assembly. Captain Jack Sparrow was at the front. All the students were really excited to see the surprise guest walking in.
Meridian mutiny couldn’t happen
There wasn’t any mutiny discovered at the school, although that had been the purpose for Captain Jack’s visit. The students all danced when Jack Sparrow sang a pirate song. Johnny Depp then called Beatrice Delap up to the front. Sparrow/Depp didn’t encourage the rebellion by the girl. Instead, he said, “Maybe we shouldn’t mutiny today because you will find police outside monitoring me.” Depp really has two kids. He took pictures with all of of the children after giving a big hug to Delap.
