Westboro Baptist Church is not making any friends these days. According to E! Online, they can also count Ozzy Osbourne among their enemies. Outside the Supreme Court, the Kansas-based church played Ozzy Osbourne’s tune “Crazy Train,” ostensibly under the impression the song’s message supported their hateful agenda. Osbourne was told of what the Westboro Baptist Church had been doing with his music, and displeasure has ensued. Ozzy says his song was not to be used for ‘hate and evil’ and is ‘disgusted’
Ozzy Osbourne is “sickened” and “disgusted” that Westboro Baptist Church used “Crazy Train” like they did. The 1980 song from Osbourne’s “Blizzard of Ozz” album was Ozzy’s first single as a solo artist. The song appeared on the 1987 album “Tribute.” This was a live version. “Crazy Train” remains a rock and heavy metal classic. Those who love electric guitar will recognize the guitar riff of Randy Rhoads who helped write the song. The music isn’t really something Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church should be using. They want to condemn those they call sinners when not appreciating the true value in the song.
Protest against war and homosexuality from Westboro Baptist Church
Peaceful protests are often really effective in America against the nation’s commitment in foreign wars. Westboro Baptist Church, nevertheless, does the opposite of that challenging freedom of speech with hate speeches. They will be in the Supreme Court as a result of a protest that involved a U.S. Marine in Iraq that had died. The Westboro Baptist Church came out and smeared the dead soldier saying he was “going straight to hell on (a) crazy train,” and called him gay, which wasn’t true, causing the soldier’s father to sue the church for invasion of privacy and emotional distress
'Crazy Train’ misrepresented by Westboro
Using a song as a theme song whenever you don’t know the lyrics is usually a bad thing. It doesn’t look all that great. Westboro Baptist Church members no doubt think they’re clever and topical for using “Crazy Train” without Ozzy Osbourne’s permission. Even if it might make them the target of one more lawsuit. But evidently they didn’t read the “Blizzard of Ozz” liner notes. ”Crazy Train” says within the first verse, “maybe it is not too late… to learn how to love… and forget how to hate.”
The members of the Westboro Baptist Church are doing things wrong. They’re the ones in trouble.
